When first planning our road trip vacation to Niagra Falls, I started looking at our route home. We live in Washington state and I wanted to make the trip home from Niagra touch on a few areas we had never been before. Our trip was going to take us through Colorado and I first looked into our HGVC timeshare in Breckenridge. However there was nothing available for the days that we would be in the area. This led me to look at our options via RCI. I liked the looks of the Christie Lodge and it's location. I decided to book and I am glad that we did. They were accommodating when we arrived with room choices. They put it on the top floor and allowed us to select the exact location we wanted. This allowed us to choose a spot away from the two pools on the property (keeping down the noise level). We had a great view out of the living/dining area overlooking the mountains around us. They are very good at keeping the noise levels down after 9:00 pm which was much appreciated. They have game rooms, two pools and two indoor hot tubs. lots of open space for lounging around the big fireplaces if you so desire. We decided to take advantage of having a kitchen and decided to cook in rather than going out to eat. The room we had was very nicely renovated and comfortable (1 bedroom) for two people. We walked around the town both days that we were there and liked all of the sidewalks, etc. We drove out to Glenwood Springs (about 45 minutes away) to take a tour of their caverns. It was a nice visit and we stopped in Gypsum on the way back to visit their Costco and get gassed up. From Gypsum we drove the alternate road back to town which was very scenic and nice along the river. Lots of fall colors to be taken in which was great. My only complaint would be that the bed was a bit uncomfortable and was only a queen. A king size pillow top would've been nice, but that was our only issue.
Overnight @Christie Lodge
My wife and I had a great stay here last week. Accommodations were good and a very nice little Town to visit. I recommend it.
